![]() ![]() ![]() I feel like I'm losing my mind because of this whole thing. Are they just the wrong pads? The clip messed up? Do they even have the clips on the pads? Is it possible to mix up the inner and outer pads? I took it back to the original shop yesterday and they resurfaced the rotors and told me that the second shop I went to forgot to also hook up a hose, and I was leaking brake fluid because of it.Īnyway, I'm still getting the rattling noise from the back and the only thing I've come across is that I'm able to move the pads on both the rear driver and passenger side up and down with my finger freely, it's the same noise I get when driving. They check the other side and apparently the same thing with the rotor, but the spindle is fine. Great, but I get my car and the same loud as hell noise is happening so I go back. They replace the spindle and fix a hot spot on the rotor I guess was worn. So I take it to another shop hoping for a second opinion and a new set of eyes, they tell me the spindle on the left rear wheel is bent and causing wear on the rotor. I go back again 3 more times where the springs on the brake calipers (I think it is the brake calipers?) and they put factory brake pads on. They finish up and same thing happens except I start getting a clicking noise with the rotation of the wheels along with that slapping noise, but again going away when I press the brake pedal. I take it back and they said the brake pads aren't sitting properly so they are going to put a new set on. It goes away when pressing the brake pedal, though. As soon as I get to my apartment I hear what sounds like a slapping sound coming from the back, almost like metal on metal. 1 Answer Sorted by: 2 The test you conducted checks to see if the brake booster is working, and not leaking with the pedal released. Job is done, I pick up my car and drive home. do you hear it when you are braking if not, do you hear it after your car was at the. ![]() Figured why not just go ahead now, so I told them to go for it. I would go to the dealership to see if your car is still under warranty. The service Manger also said IF this happen again i should just take it back to them. " Vw said I should do it to wear the brake disc even out at the back. the sound dissapeard, on my way to home last nigh I lifted the hand brake to clicks up and drove it like that for about 10 sec until you hear bing bing sound on the dash to let you know you are driving with your park prake on. The service manger took my car to hear if there is anything "sound" - nothing, he also said that if it was the wheel bearing you will hear the sound in your car when then windows are closed. I then rotated the rear wheel and heard the sound at the back wheel they checked the other rear wheel as well and made the same noise, it was the brake pads that touched the disc at the back and explained that this happens alot if you dont use you rear brake often and only use it for parking. everything was checked wheel bearings ect and also took out the brake pads and cleand it, there was alot of brake dust. To the car into the workshop and jacked the car up and took of the front wheel. I went to our local vw dealer yesterday and they were able to assist me 30min before closing time ![]()
